A Crocodile In The Yangtze?

The story of chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba and its visionary founder Jack Ma drew over 20 members to TechCircle for its first (of many) movie night on Wed 02 March. Amidst popcorn and coke, members and staff watched the journey of China’s most iconic entrepreneur detailing his early struggles, how Alibaba was conceived (now I know how Alibaba got its name!), and seeing its team grow from the initial 18-man team to its current 16,000-strong family. The 2 hours was indeed inspiring, with the journey made especially poignant because of the use of archival footage. It is almost captivating to see and hear the speech he gives to the Alibaba family – this guy makes some serious speeches! At the end of the evening, we asked members present to let us know their suggestions for our next movie night – we hear you 🙂 Til our next movie night!
